Job description

More about the role

We're on the look out for a Livestock Administrator to join our Livestock team at Morrisons for a 12 month fixed term contract.

Do you want to be part of our growth and success?

Together, we tackle business challenges, enhance our performance, and unlock the true potential of our data to drive forward the livestock function.

We have exciting opportunities to join an expanding area of the business and play a pivotal role in maintaining supply chain excellence across our sites.

These roles are fast paced and you'll be at the heart of decision making, using data, admin excellence, and analytical thinking to make improvements and change!

As a member of our team, you will take ownership of end-to-end administration for livestock payments, supplier set-ups, and purchase orders across our three Woodheads sites. The successful candidate will actively participate in running and improving the livestock administration team.

  • Managing supplier set-ups on Oracle, Farmline, and Niche systems and ensuring all livestock has a Purchase Order (PO) number prior to arriving on site.
  • Processing livestock payments on time and in full against species grids, including managing £9.3m of stock for our Elite Beef scheme.
  • Raising purchase orders and administering transport, agent, haulier, external sales, and contract kill transactions.
  • Delivering accurate daily and weekly reporting functions across the livestock division to key stakeholders.
  • Developing strong collaborative relationships with internal teams (Lairage, Accounts, Abattoir, Boning, Planning) and external suppliers, agents, and hauliers.
  • Maintaining prepayment scheme administration, ensuring data is kept up to date and total monies are recouped.

More abut our perks

We value your hard work and commitment, and in return, we provide:

  • Generous holiday entitlement
  • 15% discount in our supermarkets and convenience stores from the day you join us
  • Additional 10% discount card for a friend or family member
  • Genuine career progression and development opportunities - read more about our Leadership School here
  • Subsidised staff canteen
  • Free parking
  • Competitive pension and life assurance
  • Healthcare / Wellbeing benefits including Aviva Digital GP
  • 'MyPerks' with discounts at high street shops, cinemas and gyms, and lots more
  • Optional payroll charity donations
  • A range of family-friendly policies including 26 weeks maternity and adoption leave along with neonatal and fertility leave

More about you

So that you are set for success, we are looking for self-starters with a strong analytical mindset, exceptional administrative capabilities, and high attention to detail[cite: 1, 2]. You will work as part of a versatile team with a can-do culture, so it’s important that you are tenacious and strive for excellence.

While livestock or agricultural experience is useful, our main priority is finding someone with outstanding administrative, Excel, and analytical skills.

  • Experienced in working at an advanced/sound level in applications such as Excel, with strong mathematical ability
  • Proven administrative experience, including raising and managing Purchase Orders (POs) and processing high-volume transactions.
  • Experience with or ability to quickly learn enterprise software (Oracle and Niche experience is preferential).
  • The ability to demonstrate competence at delivering high standards and accurate work in a time-pressured, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to build positive relationships with internal colleagues and external suppliers.
  • The ability to work well within a team as well as individually using your own initiative

Starting as a Bradford market stall, we are proud to be the Yorkshire retailer now serving over 11 million customers nationwide each week. We’re unique: both foodmakers and shopkeepers, processing our own fresh produce and preparing more food in-store than any other supermarket.

We offer real opportunities to build your career across our stores, sites, and support teams. We’re a down-to-earth team that values hard work, reliability, and great customer service. If you’re friendly, dependable, and ready to get stuck in, there’s always More to Morrisons for you.
