Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data UK Retail Jobs collects and what we do with it. We aim to collect as little as we can. It was last updated on 26 September 2026.

What we collect

• Your account. Your name, email address and password (stored only as a one-way hash). When you sign up we also ask what kind of work you are looking for and what you do now; the second answer is private and never shown on any advert.
• What you choose to save. Saved jobs, saved searches, job alert preferences and any notes you add.
• Membership. The payment details described under “Membership payments” below.
• Site usage. Pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth and clicks, with your IP address, approximate country and browser. We use this to keep the site working and to understand which pages help people.
• Reports. If you report a problem with a listing, the report, any email address you give and your IP address.

We never ask for, collect or store CVs or applications.

How we use it

To sign you in, keep your saved jobs and searches, send the job alerts and closing-date reminders you have asked for, run your membership, and keep the site secure and working. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with employers.

Membership payments

Payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe’s own secure pages. When you join, we pass your name and email address to Stripe so it can create a customer record and email your receipts. Your card details are entered on Stripe’s page and held by Stripe; we never see your full card number.

From Stripe we store the id of your customer record, your subscription’s status and billing dates, and the card brand and last four digits so we can show them on your membership page. Stripe is also an independent controller of payment data for fraud prevention and its own legal duties — see Stripe’s privacy policy. We keep payment records while your account exists, and afterwards only as long as accounting and tax law require.

Emails

Emails are sent through Resend. Messages that are part of the service — confirming your address, your membership receipt, a warning before a charge — have no unsubscribe link because they are needed to run your account. Job alerts and reminders are optional: turn them off in your settings, or use the one-click unsubscribe link in every one.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to sign you in, protect forms and remember your choices, and one optional cookie that recognises a returning browser, set only if you accept it. There are no third-party advertising or tracking cookies. The cookie policy lists each one and lets you change your choice.

Adverts

Visitors who are not members may see a single sponsor panel. These are placed by us, not by an ad network: they set no cookies and receive nothing about you unless you click through to their site. Members see no adverts.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept until you delete your account. Page-view records are deleted after about 13 months, and records of automated traffic after a week.

Where it is stored

Our servers are in London. Stripe and Resend may process data outside the UK under their own safeguards for international transfers.

Your rights

You can see, correct, download or delete your account data at any time from your account, including deleting the account entirely. You also have the right to object to or restrict how we use your data, and to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). For any privacy request, email hello@ukretailjobs.co.uk.
