Reporting directly to the Crime Centre Manager, you will play a crucial part in protecting our retail sites, colleagues, and brand assets. Operating from our fully equipped control room in Dearne Valley, you will proactively monitor and review CCTV, analyse risk intelligence, and process incident reports to safeguard company operations.
In this role, you will act as a key point of support for our field and in-store loss prevention teams, providing live assistance, producing comprehensive intelligence packages, and coordinating responses to incidents as they arise. You will also serve as a professional frontline contact for telephone and email queries, ensuring all safety, security, and data protection standards are rigorously maintained.
- Conduct proactive and retrospective CCTV reviews across allocated sites to identify breaches of policy, stock loss, and acts of dishonesty, liaising with on-site officers to deter incidents.
- Log, escalate, and manage safety and security incidents in real time. Support command and crisis management teams during major incidents and reach out to affected colleagues to offer guidance.
- Analyse data sources to spot fraudulent activity, synthesize information, and construct detailed intelligence packages for internal partners and external agencies.
- Monitor risk intelligence software, media outlets, and global news to spot emerging threats that could impact team members, assets, or the wider brand.
- Manage incoming calls and emails, ensure evidential material is gathered accurately for disciplinary or legal proceedings, and handle all data with strict confidentiality in line with GDPR requirements.
- Assist with training new control room team members, prioritise your workload under minimal supervision, and maintain high performance standards set by the Crime Centre Manager.
- Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience using CCTV systems, along with high proficiency across Microsoft and Google software suites.
- A solid understanding of retail stock loss, tracking empty packaging trends, and identifying fraudulent behavior.
- Excellent written and oral communication, strong listening skills, and a professional, supportive telephone manner when speaking with distressed callers or colleagues in need.
- The ability to remain composed under pressure, think critically, react swiftly to incidents, and take ownership of key decisions.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong self-motivation, and an unwavering commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
- A collaborative team player who builds strong working relationships and actively promotes a safe, inclusive, and supportive work culture.
