Job description

Sales Executive - Vertu Kia & MG Edinburgh

We are looking for a motivated Sales Executive to join the team at Vertu Kia & MG Edinburgh. This role offers a competitive basic salary of £27,000, with an on-target earnings (OTE) of £45,000 and uncapped commission, meaning top performers can earn up to £60,000.

Whether you're an experienced automotive Sales Executive or looking for a fresh challenge and a career change into the motor industry, we'd love to hear from you. We're looking for individuals with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, building strong relationships and achieving results.

In return, you'll receive full training, ongoing support and a comprehensive onboarding programme designed to help you succeed and maximise your earning potential.

In addition to excellent earning potential, we pride ourselves on offering genuine work-life balance. You'll work a 40-hour week (five 8-hour shifts), be on duty for most Saturdays (our busiest sales day), and enjoy a guaranteed day off during the week. Plus, we're closed on Sundays, giving you a consistent day every week to relax and recharge.

As part of our team, you'll represent two exciting automotive brands renowned for quality, innovation and value, delivering an outstanding customer experience at every stage. You'll become a trusted advisor to customers, helping them find the right vehicle and products to suit their needs.

As a Sales Executive, you'll guide customers through a seamless and enjoyable car-buying journey. From the first point of contact through to vehicle handover, you'll take ownership of the entire customer experience, ensuring every customer leaves confident and delighted with their purchase.

Join us and benefit from outstanding earning opportunities within a supportive, high-performing environment that's focused on your success.

  • Automotive sales experience is preferred but not essential
  • Career changers with a proven track record in a customer-facing or sales-focused role are encouraged to apply
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
  • A target-driven mindset with the ability to build rapport and influence customers
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
  • Full UK driving licence (Manual and Automatic)

As a values-driven business, how you behave matters. You'll be expected to act in good faith at all times and consistently deliver the right outcomes for our customers.

Representing the dealership every day, you will set the standard for integrity. It's your responsibility to ensure the products and services you offer genuinely meet customer needs, protect them from harm and encourage long-term loyalty. Building trust should be at the heart of every interaction.

To protect our customers and our reputation, you will be required to complete a DBS check, along with regular fit and proper person assessments. We will also request references from previous employers as part of our pre-employment checks.

We are proud to be the Motor Retailer who invests more in our colleagues' personal development than any other, so if you are successful, you can look forward to ongoing training opportunities that provide you with the right career path, career progression and a range of benefits you would expect from an employer of choice, including:

  • 25 days holiday rising to 29 with length of service, plus bank holidays
  • Access to our online rewards platform giving you cashback and discounts with multiple retailers
  • Preferential Service Rates
  • Company Car
  • Colleague Purchase Scheme
  • Share Incentive Scheme
  • Pension
  • Enhanced Maternity and Paternity

You will need to have a full UK driving licence to be considered for this role. If your application is successful, we will need to complete employment checks prior to you starting with us. For this role, these can include us verifying your recent employment, address and credit history. We may also conduct a criminal record check and a driving licence check.
