Job description

What a fantastic opportunity to join our Customer Fulfilment Automation domain here in Tesco Technology!

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of automation across Tesco’s fulfilment network - driving solutions that transform how we serve customers and strengthening Tesco’s position as a leader in online retail.

You’ll lead the strategy and development of automated fulfilment technologies that power our online operations. Working closely with cross‑functional partners, you’ll identify opportunities to optimise end‑to‑end fulfilment, reduce operational costs, and elevate the customer experience.

This includes defining product capabilities, partnering with third‑part vendors, assessing market solutions, and championing a product‑led mindset across the organisation.

You’ll guide product discovery, prioritise capabilities, manage a SCRUM team’s backlog, and support junior team members as they grow. Success in this role requires strong product management experience, a deep understanding of user needs, and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams to deliver impactful product strategies.

  • Lead product discovery and define product capabilities.
  • Prioritise features and tasks; manage a SCRUM team backlog.
  • Evaluate markets and potential product solutions.
  • Support junior team members and foster strong collaboration.
  • Ensure products meet high standards of resiliency, security, reliability, and observability.
  • Use tools such as JIRA, MIRO, Confluence, and Aha for backlog management, discovery, and strategy.
  • Experience in building warehouse or logistics solutions (like, Warehouse Management System WMS or Warehouse Execution System WES) for warehouses or retail fulfilment centres
  • Experience integrating warehouse applications (WMS and WES) with robotics, conveyors, IoT, AI
  • Experience with API and backend systems - understand how data is stored, moved and secured within a complex distributed system
  • Experience in defining warehouse operations using standard workflows like decant, goods-to-person picking, consolidation and marshalling, etc
  • Hands on experience doing product discoveries to map our service design blueprints, identify user personas and Jobs-to-be-done and work with UXDR to define user flows and wireframes for warehouse operations
  • Proficient in agile methodologies and worked in a fast-paced, iterative development environment
