Job description

Specsavers Motherwell is looking for an Optometrist to join its thriving and supportive team. Whether you're newly qualified or an experienced Optometrist looking for your next challenge, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a well-established store that is committed to clinical and professional development.

Located within a busy shopping centre, our Motherwell store has proudly served the local community since 2002, building a loyal patient base and a strong reputation across the area. Alongside providing outstanding eye care, the team is actively involved in supporting local charities and community initiatives, helping to make a positive difference beyond the test room.

Following a recent refurbishment, you'll enjoy working in a bright, modern environment with 4 fully equipped test rooms and access to the latest clinical technology.

You'll be joining an experienced team of Optometrists, alongside a Dispensing Optician and knowledgeable Optical Assistants, all committed to delivering exceptional patient care. With an established team already in place, you'll have everything you need to focus on your patients while continuing to develop your own clinical interests and expertise.

Professional development is a key focus within the store. 3 of our current Optometrists are already Independent Prescribers, with another due to undertake the qualification shortly. If you're looking to further your clinical skills, gain additional qualifications or progress your career, you'll be fully supported to achieve your ambitions.

What truly sets Motherwell apart is its people. Many members of the team have been with the store for more than 10 years, creating a welcoming and supportive culture where colleagues feel valued and patients benefit from seeing familiar faces they know and trust.

What's on offer?

  • Up to £50,000 depending on experience and responsibilities
  • Bonus scheme
  • £10,000 joining bonus (T&Cs apply)
  • £1,500 professional development funding (T&Cs apply)
  • Full or part-time working patterns available
  • Alternate Saturdays
  • Very occasional Sunday working
  • No late nights
  • Medical and dental plan after 6 months' service
  • 29 days annual leave plus your birthday off
  • 30-minute testing in a rolling clinic
  • Paid professional fees
  • Free parking close to the store
  • Accessible via public transport
  • Genuine opportunities for both clinical and professional progression
  • Support with further qualifications, including Independent Prescribing

If you're looking for a role where you'll be supported professionally, encouraged clinically and welcomed into a close-knit team that genuinely enjoys working together, we'd love to hear from you. Contact Lauren Singh on 07549 210919 or email lauren.singh@specsavers.com
