Job description

Specsavers Alloa is looking for an Optometrist to join its ambitious, welcoming and highly experienced team. Whether you're newly qualified or an experienced Optometrist looking for your next challenge, this is an excellent opportunity to develop both clinically and professionally in a store that truly invests in its people.

Situated in the heart of Alloa, our busy high street store has proudly served the local community for more than 25 years. We care for generations of loyal patients, giving you the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and make a lasting impact within the community.

While the store has a long-established presence, it has benefited from a recent full refit, providing a modern working environment with 4 fully equipped test rooms and access to the latest clinical technology.

You'll be joining a close-knit team of experienced clinicians and trained Optical Assistants who are passionate about providing exceptional patient care. Professional development is actively encouraged, with one Independent Prescriber already in store and another due to begin their training soon. If you're considering further qualifications, including IP, you'll receive all the support you need to achieve your goals.

What makes Alloa particularly special is its leadership team. Our Store Partners began their careers with Specsavers as Optical Assistants before progressing through Optometry and into business ownership. Having walked the same path themselves, they are committed to helping others achieve their ambitions and will work closely with you to support your individual career journey.

Most importantly, you'll be joining a supportive and inclusive team where many colleagues have built long and successful careers spanning more than 20 years. From day one, you'll be welcomed with open arms and become part of a culture built on teamwork, trust and development.

What's on offer?

  • Up to £65,000 depending on experience, accreditations and responsibilities
  • Lucrative bonus scheme in place
  • £10,000 joining bonus (T&Cs apply)
  • £1,500 professional development funding (T&Cs apply)
  • Full-time or part-time opportunities available
  • One full weekend off per month
  • No late nights
  • Medical and dental plan
  • 33 days annual leave plus your birthday off
  • 25-minute testing in a set clinic
  • Paid professional fees
  • Free parking close to the store
  • Excellent public transport links
  • Genuine clinical and professional progression opportunities
  • Support with further qualifications, including Independent Prescribing
