Location: Street, Somerset (Hybrid/Remote Considered)Contract: Permanent

We're looking for an experienced insurance professional to join Clarks as our Group Insurance and Risk Manager.

This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a global insurance programme within an internationally recognised consumer brand. You'll lead all aspects of the company's insurance arrangements, working closely with brokers, insurers and senior stakeholders across the business to ensure appropriate coverage, manage claims and support risk management activities.

While the role includes responsibility for risk reporting and business continuity planning, insurance expertise is the primary focus. You'll play a key role in protecting the business and supporting commercial decision-making across a diverse and global operation.

Managing Clarks' global insurance programme and annual renewals

Developing strong relationships with brokers and insurers

Managing insurance claims from notification through to resolution

Providing advice on insurance coverage, policy wording and risk transfer

Reviewing programme structure, premiums and excess levels to ensure effective protection and value

Supporting cyber insurance activity alongside internal stakeholders

Maintaining and developing the Group risk register

Coordinating quarterly principal risk reporting for senior leadership and the Audit Committee

Supporting and testing business continuity plans

Working with colleagues across Finance, Legal, IT, Health & Safety and other business functions to identify and manage emerging risks

What We're Looking For

We're open to candidates from a range of backgrounds, including in-house insurance teams, insurers and brokers.

Experience in a corporate insurance, insurance management, broking or insurer environment

Strong knowledge of commercial insurance programmes, renewals and claims management

Experience working with brokers, insurers and senior stakeholders

The ability to assess risks and make balanced commercial recommendations

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

A proactive, organised and professional approach

The following would be advantageous, but are not essential:

Experience supporting multinational or global insurance programmes

Exposure to risk management, risk registers or business continuity planning

Insurance qualifications such as ACII

Experience within retail, consumer goods, manufacturing, logistics or similar sectors

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a broad and visible insurance portfolio while working closely with senior leaders across the organisation. It's an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a larger, more influential role or broaden their experience beyond a traditional insurance environment.

You'll have the flexibility to work in a hybrid or remote arrangement while remaining part of a collaborative and supportive team.

Competitive salary

Flexible and hybrid working options

Career development and progression opportunities

Fast-paced and dynamic culture

Comprehensive benefits package
