As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role
in supporting the day-to-day operations of Pausa Coffee Shop, working Monday to Friday in our Dunelm Head Office, based in Leicester. You’ll ensure the
kitchen and service areas are clean, hygienic, and well-organised, enabling the
team to deliver a great experience to every customer. This role is essential in
maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency behind the scenes
Pausa Coffee Shop at the Store Support Centre is
a welcoming space designed to provide high-quality food and drink to colleagues
and visitors. The team is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and
friendly environment while supporting the smooth operation of the café. The
department works closely with Facilities, Health & Safety, and People teams
to ensure compliance, wellbeing, and excellent service standards.
What you'll be doing
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and cutlery using appropriate methods.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
- Dispose of waste and recycling in line with company procedures.
- Support the team with basic food preparation tasks when required.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health & safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with the café team to ensure smooth service.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
What we'll look for in you
- Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment.
- Food hygiene certification.
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment.
