Job description

At TJX Europe, every day brings new opportunities for growth, exploration, and achievement. You’ll be part of our vibrant team that embraces diversity, fosters collaboration, and prioritises your development. Whether you’re working in our Distribution Centers, Corporate Offices, or Retail Stores—TK Maxx & Homesense, you’ll find abundant opportunities to learn, thrive, and make an impact.

Come join our TJX team—a Fortune 100 company and the world’s leading off-price retailer.

At TK Maxx, no two days are ever the same. Our unique business model creates a fast-paced environment where every day brings new opportunities, fresh challenges, and exciting discoveries.

We're looking for an ambitious and people-focused leader to join our management team as an Assistant Manager. Working alongside the Store Manager, you'll play a key role in driving store performance, leading teams, and delivering exceptional customer experience while developing your own career within a global retailer.

As Assistant Manager, you'll be the Store Manager's key partner, helping lead a large-scale, fast-paced operation where no two days are the same.

We also know job titles don't always tell the full story. While this role is Assistant Manager, the scale of our stores, the size of the teams you'll help lead, and the level of ownership you'll have, it often appeals to experienced leaders from a variety of backgrounds.

Whether you're currently an Assistant Manager looking for a bigger challenge, a Store Manager ready to step into a larger retail business with greater complexity, or a leader from hospitality, distribution, logistics or another high-volume environment, this could be the opportunity you're looking for.

With significant responsibility for people, operations and performance, this role offers the chance to make a real impact while building the skills and experience needed for future Store Manager and senior leadership opportunities.

Working closely with the Store Manager, you'll help create a high-performing and engaging environment for both associates and customers, leading, coaching and developing teams to deliver exceptional results. You'll play a key role in developing and retaining talent through effective recruitment, onboarding, training and succession planning, while driving operational excellence across all areas of the business.

Managing resources effectively, you'll ensure key priorities are delivered, including stock flow, Door to Floor execution, store standards and customer service. You'll support workforce planning, payroll management, health & safety and compliance, while identifying future leaders and building a strong talent pipeline.

As a trusted partner to the Store Manager, you'll take ownership of store performance and confidently lead the operation in their absence, ensuring a seamless experience for both customers and associates.

We're looking for ambitious leaders who know how to get the best from large teams in busy, fast-moving environments. Whether you've built your career in retail, hospitality, or distribution, or another high-volume operational setting, you'll have experience leading and developing large teams, managing performance, and delivering results through people.

You'll be comfortable making decisions, managing competing priorities and driving operational excellence in environments with significant stock volumes, customer footfall or service demands.

With strong leadership and coaching skills, commercial awareness, sound problem-solving ability, and a positive hands-on approach, you'll know how to motivate, influence and inspire others while continuously improving performance and delivering outstanding results.
